• 10+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience
• Prior experience managing or supervising accounting professionals
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
• CPA preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial close, reporting, and compliance in a complex organization
• ERP experience; PeopleSoft is a plus
• MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint proficiency
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
• Continuous improvement mindset with process, controls, or systems enhancements

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, develop, and retain a team of accounting professionals
• Oversee accounting operations and financial close activities including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial reporting
• Maintain accuracy and integrity of income statement and balance sheet accounts
• Review accounting analyses, accruals, liabilities, and team-delivered deliverables
• Ensure GAAP, statutory, and regulatory compliance
• Coordinate with external auditors on planning, documentation, and deliverables
• Partner with business and operational teams on accurate accounting treatment
• Develop and enhance accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting
• Sponsor system implementations and process-improvement initiatives
• Identify opportunities to leverage technology and AI to improve efficiency and accuracy

A leading multi-billion-dollar organization is seeking an experienced Manager of Accounting to lead its Corporate Accounting team and oversee critical accounting operations. The Manager of Accounting will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial results, maintaining compliance with GAAP, statutory, and regulatory requirements, and driving continuous improvement across the accounting function.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, develop, and retain a team of accounting professionals
• Oversee accounting operations and financial close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial reporting
• Maintain accountability for the accuracy and integrity of income statement and balance sheet accounts
• Review accounting analyses, accruals, liabilities, and team-prepared deliverables
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, statutory, and regulatory requirements
• Serve as the escalation point for complex accounting issues and evaluate appropriate accounting conclusions
• Coordinate with external auditors, including planning, documentation, issue resolution, and audit deliverables
• Partner with business and operational teams to ensure accurate accounting treatment
• Lead the development and enhancement of accounting processes, internal controls, and financial reporting
• Sponsor special projects, system implementations, and process improvement initiatives
• Identify opportunities to leverage technology and AI to improve accounting efficiency and accuracy

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience
• Prior experience managing or formally supervising accounting professionals
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
• CPA preferred
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and GAAPExperience overseeing financial close, reporting, and compliance within a complex organization
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with senior leadership and non-accounting stakeholders
• ERP experience; PeopleSoft experience is a plus
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
• Continuous improvement mindset with experience enhancing processes, controls, or systems
