Job Description: Hotel Accountant at IHG Army Hotels

Hotel: Allin/Aultman Hall (MFOKB), 5676 Fergusson Road, 73503
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Director of Area Finance, Director of Finance, and/or Assistant Director of Finance with the preparation of the Budget, Strategic Plan, and Goals program.
- Perform or assist in month-end closing activities, including input and reconciliation of all income, preparing reports, verifying Trial Balance, and generating Financial Statements for management review.
- Manage daily accounting operations, including assigning tasks to staff, planning work, and ensuring adherence to accounting standards. Alert management of serious issues promptly.
- Input General Ledger entries and journal vouchers, ensuring transactions are posted timely and accurately, maintaining control over bookkeeping functions.
- Prepare tax reconciliations, payments, and reports; maintain records for tax balancing; complete tax filings as required by authorities.
- Perform balance sheet and bank reconciliations, participate in inventory counts, and verify monthly extensions.
- Review and verify accounts payable and receivable, maintain income reports, and handle related duties such as deposits, invoicing, and monitoring cash flows.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports, and perform financial analysis, forecasting, and special projects.
- Promote teamwork and service quality through communication with departments like Catering, Sales, Reservations, and Front Office.
- Audit payroll and supervise the Accounting department in the absence of the Assistant Director of Finance & Accounting.
- Interact with external contacts including guests, regulatory agencies, and external auditors to resolve issues and ensure compliance.
- Ensure staff are properly trained and equipped; perform additional accounting functions and assist with other duties as needed.
Accountability:
This role involves performing professional accounting duties for a hotel or group of hotels, supervising staff, and ensuring accuracy and completeness of work.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Some college plus 2+ years of hotel accounting or auditing experience, including management; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
- Fluent English required.
Physical and Skills Requirements:
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Strong communication skills.
- Proficiency in spreadsheets, financial reporting systems, and software.
