Accounting Manager
The Accounting Manager is a highly responsible position which coordinates and manages all aspects of client accounting and financial management including but not limited to hands-on day to day accounting functions, maintenance of general ledger, preparation of financial statements, compiling and monitoring of budgets, managing cash and investments, and maintains the overall financial health of multiple assigned metropolitan, water & sanitation, park & recreation, fire protection/emergency service districts, and other various clients. The position requires strong accounting and analytical skills, communication skills, organizational skills, presentation skills, and possess the ability to balance multiple deadlines and priorities.
This position is housed in the Finance and Accounting Department and reports to the Director of Finance and Accounting and works closely with the Assistant Director of Finance and Accounting. This position delegates work to the Assistant Accounting Manager(s), oversees their work product, provides feedback, coaches and trains and assists in establishing proficiency measures for the position but does not directly supervise. This position produces high-level quality work, ensures consistency of client service work through the application of established policies, procedures, and systems.

Preferred: Thorough knowledge of core government finance practices: including budget, fund accounting, and governmental finance reporting is preferred
Education level Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Real Estate or closely related fields with 2 years' experience or Five (5) or more years of progressively responsible experience in general business, governmental accounting, community/homeowner association administration, or paralegal/legal assistant is required
