Job summary

Jonus Group in New York City is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations for our P&C insurance and reinsurance activities. This hands-on leadership role covers GAAP and statutory reporting, close processes, and staff development.

The position is 100% on-site in NYC with a competitive base salary and a 10% annual incentive bonus, plus a merit increase opportunity and full benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• P&C insurance and/or reinsurance accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Strong general ledger and financial reporting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP and statutory accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with Oracle preferred.
• Prior management or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

About the Opportunity

A leading Property & Casualty insurance carrier is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations supporting its reinsurance business.This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for financial reporting, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, premium accounting, accounts receivable, and month-end/quarter-end close activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations and month-end/quarter-end close
• Prepare and review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Support GAAP and statutory financial reporting

Compensation: $125,000 – $150,000 base + 10% annual incentive bonus + 3% merit increase opportunity +Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401(k) match, PTO, and professional development
