Job summary

The Jonus Group is partnering with a leading Property & Casualty insurance carrier to hire an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations in its reinsurance business. This hands-on leadership role covers financial reporting, general ledger, reconciliations, premium accounting, accounts receivable, and month-end/quarter-end close.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Experience in P&C insurance and/or reinsurance accounting preferred.
• Strong general ledger and financial reporting experience.
• Knowledge of GAAP and statutory accounting.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with Oracle preferred.
• Prior management or supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations and month-end/quarter-end close.
• Prepare and review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support GAAP and statutory financial reporting.
• Manage reinsurance and premium accounting activities.
• Oversee accounts receivable, cash application, and reconciliations.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
• Partner with Finance, Underwriting, Operations, IT, and Audit teams.

About The Opportunity

A leading Property & Casualty insurance carrier is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee accounting operations supporting its reinsurance business. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for financial reporting, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, premium accounting, accounts receivable, and month‑end/quarter‑end close activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations and month-end/quarter-end close
• Prepare and review journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Support GAAP and statutory financial reporting
• Manage reinsurance and premium accounting activities
• Oversee accounts receivable, cash application, and reconciliations
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies
• Manage, mentor, and develop accounting staff
• Partner with Finance, Underwriting, Operations, IT, and Audit teams

Compensation

$125,000 – $150,000 base + 10% annual incentive bonus + 3% merit increase opportunity + Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401(k) match, PTO, and professional development
