Job summary

Ideal Chemical & Supply Company seeks an Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations, supervise staff, and ensure accurate financial reporting.

You will drive month- and year-end closes, coordinate with external auditors, and support cash flow analyses and process improvements across the accounting function.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 5-7+ years accounting experience with 1-2 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Experience with financial reporting and general ledger accounting.
• Experience overseeing the annual audit.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly GL account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger accuracy.
• Prepare and review monthly financial statements, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
• Assist Controller in year-end physical inventory count.
• Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, preparing requested documentation and support.
• Provide support for cash applications, collections, and aging analysis.
• Analyze AR trends and provide recommendations to improve cash flow and collections.
• Assist with process improvements and automation initiatives within accounting operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Controller.

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Manager who is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department. This role is responsible for supervising the accounting department, maintaining accurate financial reporting, leading the month and year end close process and supporting organizational accounting objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Skills and Knowledge

• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.) with excellent Excel skills
• Sound knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
• Proficiency and hands‑on experience with financial management software – Prophix, Sage Intacct and Sage FAS
• Able to complete tasks accurately and timely with minimal supervision
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving abilities
