Job description

About The Role

The Accounting Manager owns the close, consolidation, and reporting processes for a well-funded technology company, ensuring results are accurate, GAAP-compliant, and delivered on a tight monthly cadence.

About The Role

The Accounting Manager owns the close, consolidation, and reporting processes for a well-funded technology company, ensuring results are accurate, GAAP-compliant, and delivered on a tight monthly cadence.

The role matters because clean books and audit-ready controls are the foundation for every strategic decision — from board reporting to fundraising to SEC readiness. This is a hands-on leadership role with a clear path toward senior finance leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycle, delivering accurate financial statements within a 5-business-day close
  • Manage revenue recognition under ASC 606, including contract review, deferred revenue schedules, and coordination with billing systems like NetSuite or Stripe
  • Oversee general ledger, reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries across multiple entities and currencies
  • Maintain and strengthen SOX internal controls, documenting processes and remediating control gaps ahead of external audits
  • Coordinate and support external audits and tax compliance, serving as the primary point of contact for auditors
  • Partner with FP&A and department leads on variance analysis, budget support, and month-end commentary
  • Mentor and develop a team of 2-4 staff accountants, reviewing deliverables and building scalable processes
What We Are Looking For
  • 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, including prior supervisory or lead responsibility
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred
  • Deep knowledge of US GAAP, including ASC 606, ASC 842, and ASC 350; familiarity with SEC reporting frameworks a plus
  • Hands-on ERP experience (NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle) with strong Excel and data-analysis skills
  • Track record of improving close processes and building internal controls, ideally in SaaS or high-growth tech environments
  • Experience managing external audits and communicating findings to senior leadership
  • Bonus: Big 4 or national firm background, experience with equity compensation accounting (ASC 718), or exposure to SOX readiness at a pre-IPO company
