Job summary

Jiffy Lube International is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee core accounting and financial reporting. Reporting to the Controller, you will manage journal entries, reconciliations, monthly close, and internal finance packages as part of a growing organization.

The role requires hands-on expertise in general ledger accounting, ERP systems (NetSuite), and cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Treasury, and AP to drive accuracy and process improvements. Northwest Houston onsite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA or CPA-track preferred.
• 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience in multi-location franchise/retail/automotive/service business preferred.
• Strong GAAP knowledge, general ledger, reconciliations, and close processes.
• Experience with ERP systems; NetSuite preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Accounting Manager will play a critical role in supporting the accounting and financial reporting functions across Jiffy Lube International. Reporting directly to the Controller, this role will be responsible for executing core accounting processes, supporting monthly close activities, maintaining financial accuracy, and helping establish scalable accounting processes and controls within a fast-growing organization.

This role is highly hands-on and requires a strong understanding of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, accruals, financial reporting, and operational accounting processes. The Accounting Manager will work cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, Treasury, Accounts Payable, and external partners to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting and operational support.

The position will also support the organization through a Transition Services Agreement (TSA) with the prior owner and assist in building an independent accounting infrastructure under new ownership. This individual will help evaluate and improve existing accounting processes, implement operational efficiencies, and support the development of a scalable finance organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and record journal entries, accruals, reclasses, and other monthly accounting transactions.
• Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations with appropriate supporting documentation.
• Support the monthly financial close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Maintain integrity of the general ledger and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
• Assist with preparation of internal financial reporting packages and supporting schedules.
• Analyze financial results and investigate variances, unusual activity, and balance sheet fluctuations.

Operational Accounting & Process Support

• Support accounting activities related to franchisor operations, product supply, rebates, and other operational transactions.
• Assist with cash reconciliations, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, intercompany accounting, and other recurring accounting processes.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Treasury, and Operations teams to resolve transactional issues and improve process efficiency.
• Help establish scalable accounting workflows, controls, and documentation standards.
• Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and continuous process improvement.

Compliance, Audit & Controls

• Support external audit requests and preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation.
• Assist with development and maintenance of internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and reporting requirements.
• Support ERP implementation, process redesign, and accounting system enhancements.
• Assist in establishing scalable accounting policies and workflows within a newly independent operating environment.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Finance leadership and operational teams to support reporting, analysis, and business initiatives.
• Communicate effectively across departments to resolve issues and improve financial visibility.
• Support ad hoc reporting requests, analysis, and operational initiatives as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA or CPA-track preferred.
• 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience within a multi-location, franchise, retail, automotive, or service-based business preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial close processes.
• Experience working within ERP systems; NetSuite experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities required.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy.

Work Location

• Role is based in Northwest Houston and position is expected to work onsite five days per week.
