Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Current, hands-on SAP experience is required.
• Manufacturing accounting experience strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of general accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience with month-end close and financial analysis.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting activities for a manufacturing operation and provide financial support to leadership.
• Manage month-end close, reconciliations, financial reporting, and general ledger activities.
• Partner with finance and operational leadership to analyze financial performance and support business decisions.
• Oversee and develop accounting staff, including a Cost Accountant.
• Assist with cost accounting, inventory, and manufacturing-related financial analysis.
• Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data and accounting records.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and internal controls.
• Utilize SAP for day-to-day accounting and financial reporting activities.
• Work cross-functionally with operations and other departments to support the business.
• Provide occasional support at manufacturing plant locations as needed.

A growing Houston-based manufacturing organization is adding an Accounting Manager to its accounting and finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in a smaller, hands-on environment and wants to play a meaningful role in a growing organization.

The company is expanding its finance team and is looking for sharp, experienced accounting professionals with current SAP experience and a strong manufacturing background.

What You'll Do

What We're Looking For

• Strong understanding of general accounting and financial reporting.
• Experience with month-end close and financial analysis.
• Experience with cost accounting and/or inventory accounting is a plus.
• Previous experience supervising or managing accounting personnel preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working in a smaller, entrepreneurial environment.
• Able to work independently while partnering effectively with senior leadership.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
