Job summary

Connect Search, LLC partners with a rapidly growing infrastructure company in Houston to hire an Accounting Manager / Project Controller. This role owns the accounting and financial reporting for a major construction asset and reports to senior leadership.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in accounting with EPC/construction experience, strong GAAP mastery, and ERP implementation skills. You will lead month-end close, project costing, WIP/CIP, budgeting, and cross-functional ERP initiatives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Accounting Manager, Project Controller, Project Accountant, or similar experience.
• Strong EPC, construction, infrastructure, energy, or project accounting background.
• Experience with job costing, WIP, CIP, and project financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close.
• Ability to independently manage the accounting function for a project or business unit.
• ERP implementation or system-conversion experience is highly preferred.
• Experience with NetSuite, Microsoft Business Central, SAP, or similar ERP systems is a plus.
• CPA or CPA-track is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own the accounting and financial reporting for a major construction/infrastructure project.
• Manage the full accounting cycle, including month-end close, reconciliations, accruals, AP/AR, and general ledger.
• Oversee project accounting, job costing, WIP, and construction-in-progress.
• Monitor project budgets, costs, commitments, and actuals.
• Prepare financial statements, management reporting, and project-level financial analysis.
• Partner with project and operational leadership to provide financial visibility into project performance.
• Develop and improve accounting processes, policies, and internal controls.
• Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and cost-to-complete analysis
• Support audits and other financial reporting requirements.
• Play a key role in the implementation of a new ERP system.
• Help build scalable accounting processes as the company continues to grow.

About the Opportunity
