The Bolton Group in Goldsboro, NC is seeking an Accounting Manager to own the month-end close, drive GAAP-compliant reporting, and build scalable accounting processes as the business grows.

This leadership role requires strong technical accounting, project accounting experience, and the ability to lead a small team while partnering with operations and project managers to improve financial visibility and control.

Qualifications

• Strong GAAP accrual accounting experience.
• Experience with project accounting, WIP, and revenue recognition.
• Background in construction, contracting, or related fields preferred.
• Public accounting exposure to construction clients is a plus.
• Experience with month-end close and financial reporting.
• Ability to build processes and lead a small accounting team.

Responsabilités

• Monitor project costs, profitability, and revenue recognition.
• Develop and improve accounting processes and internal controls.
• Oversee cash-flow forecasting and working capital management

• Standardize workflows to support growth and acquisitions.

A growing, private-equity-backed construction company in Goldsboro, NC is looking for an Accounting Manager ready to take ownership, build processes, and make an impact!

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong accounting foundation who wants to step into a leadership role and help strengthen the accounting function as the business continues to grow.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end close process and financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
• Manage work-in-progress (WIP) schedules and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition
• Monitor project costs, profitability, and revenue and cost recognition
• Develop and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and procedures
• Oversee cash-flow forecasting and support working capital management
• Partner with project managers, operations, and leadership to improve financial visibility
• Strengthen inventory accounting and reporting processes
• Help standardize workflows and support continued business growth and future acquisitions

Qualifications

• Strong GAAP accrual accounting experience
• Experience with project accounting, WIP, percentage-of-completion accounting, or revenue recognition
• Background in construction, contracting, specialty trades, or systems integration preferred
• Public accounting experience with exposure to construction clients will also be considered
• Experience with month-end close, financial statements, and financial reporting
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to build processes, improve controls, and work effectively with operational teams
• Hands-on mindset with the ability to lead and develop a small accounting team
