Qualifications

Job description

A great UHY client is seeking an Accounting Manager. The ideal candidate will have strong manufacturing accounting experience, solid Excel skills, and a strong foundation in journal entries and general accounting.

The Accounting Manager role is an onsite position. This is a direct hire position.

• Oversee day-to-day accounting activities and assigned general ledger functions.
• Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Manage and support the month-end and year-end close processes.
• Review financial information for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting policies and US GAAP.
• Analyze account balances, financial results, and variances and provide meaningful explanations.
• Support accounting related to inventory, cost accounting, and manufacturing operations.
• Assist with percentage-of-completion accounting and project-related financial reporting as applicable.
• Maintain and strengthen accounting processes, controls, and procedures.
• Partner with operational and Finance teams to resolve accounting issues and improve financial reporting.
• Utilize Excel to analyze financial data, prepare schedules, and support accounting and reporting activities.
• Support audits, reporting requirements, and other accounting initiatives.
• Learn new accounting processes and responsibilities as needed, with training available for qualified candidates.
• Support ERP-related processes and improvements; Epicor experience is helpful but not required.
• Perform other accounting duties and special projects as needed.
• Progressive accounting experience with a strong background in manufacturing required.
• Strong understanding of general accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Solid Excel skills required, including the ability to analyze data and build supporting schedules.
• Experience with inventory and cost accounting strongly preferred.
• Construction or percentage-of-completion accounting experience is a plus, but not required.
• Epicor ERP experience is helpful but not required.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP and accounting principles.
• CPA or CPA-track candidates are encouraged to apply; the client is willing to provide training in areas where a strong candidate lacks direct experience.
• Ability to learn new accounting processes, systems, and technical areas quickly.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy and accountability.

• Ability to work onsite and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
