Job summary

UHY Advisors' Resource Solutions Group is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager who will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, GAAP compliance, and strong internal controls. This role manages the monthly close, supervises accounting staff, and partners cross-functionally to support business decision-making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s preferred).
• CPA or CPA-eligible strongly preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including people management.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Workday, or similar).
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with financial reporting tools a plus.
• Proven ability to manage deadlines and multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and close processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff; ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensure internal controls, policies, and regulatory compliance are followed.
• Coordinate with external auditors and support audit requests.
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis with FP&A.
• Support process improvements, automation, and system implementations.
• Collaborate with FP&A, tax, payroll, and operations; handle ad hoc analysis.

Job Description

Key Focus areas:

• Manage and oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules in accordance with US GAAP
• Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff; review work for accuracy and timeliness
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and regulatory requirements
• Coordinate with external auditors and support audit requests and deliverables
• Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in partnership with FP&A
• Support process improvements, automation initiatives, and system implementations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including FP&A, tax, payroll, and operations
• Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as needed
