The Accounting Manager plays a central role in firm operationsand has direct visibility with shareholders and leadership. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the firm’s accounting department, including two accounting clerks
• Oversee all billing processes, ensuring timely and accurate invoice generation
• Drive an assertive, structured collections strategy to reduce aging A/R
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for shareholder review
• Maintain and improve internal controls, ensuring accuracy across all financial workflows
• Manage trust accounting in compliance with Colorado ethical rules
• Handle settlement checks, retainers, and client funds with precision
• Conduct financial analysis to support firm leadership and strategic planning
• Coordinate and execute year‑end financial processes
• Attend weekly Wednesday management meetings at noon
• Collaborate with attorneys, staff, and leadership to streamline processes and enhance financial performance

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
• CPA preferred, especially for candidates at the top of the compensation range
• 5+ years of substantive accounting experience, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment
• Strong understanding of trust accounting, settlement check handling, and legal‑industry ethical rules
• Experience with Tabs3 or similar legal billing/accounting software
• Demonstrated ability to manage billing, collections, and financial reporting with accuracy and urgency
• Proven ability to supervise and develop staff
• Highly organized, assertive, proactive, and comfortable owning financial operations
• Ability to work fully on‑site, with some flexibility in daily schedule
• Professionalism, sound judgment, and strong communication skills are essential
