Job summary

CFS in Cleveland, OH is seeking a highly analytical Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, and financial reporting, while developing a growing accounting team. This role will collaborate with leadership to strengthen controls and improve processes during a period of growth.

You will coach staff, establish SOPs, review journals, reconciliations, and budgeting support, with visibility to executives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 3+ years of management or team leadership experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Experience leading accounting processes and developing or improving SOPs and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, ensuring accurate and timely completion.
• Review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, financial statements, and supporting schedules.
• Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and resolve complex accounting issues.
• Oversee general ledger activity, including AP, AR, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and other accounting functions.
• Lead, coach, and develop accounting team members while managing workload, priorities, and performance.
• Establish and improve accounting policies, procedures, SOPs, and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve reporting, reduce manual work, and increase efficiency.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow reporting, and financial analysis.
