Job summary

CFS is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the accounting team in a hybrid role near Lakewood, Ohio. You will oversee the close process, GL activities, and financial reporting, while mentoring staff and building strong internal controls.

Responsibilities include developing SOPs, improving processes, and partnering with finance leadership on budgeting and forecasting. This is a growth-focused position with emphasis on efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• 3+ years of direct people management and team development experience.
• Strong general ledger, financial reporting, reconciliations, month-end close, and audit experience.
• Experience developing or improving SOPs, internal controls, and accounting processes.
• Experience leading process improvement, automation, or finance transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Oversee general ledger activity, account reconciliations, journal entries, fixed assets, and balance sheet accounts.
• Review financial statements, investigate variances, and provide meaningful financial analysis to leadership.
• Manage, mentor, and develop accounting team members while overseeing workload, priorities, and performance.
• Develop, document, and implement accounting SOPs, policies, and internal controls.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve reporting, reduce manual work, and strengthen financial controls.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow reporting, and other financial planning activities.

• Demonstrated experience developing or improving SOPs, internal controls, and accounting processes
• Experience leading process improvement, automation, or finance transformation initiatives
• Experience working within a growing, complex, or multi-location organization preferred
• CPA or other relevant professional certification is a plus
