AtWork Personnel | Charlotte East is partnering with a growing, product-based manufacturing organization in the Charlotte area to hire an experienced Accounting Manager. This hands-on leadership role focuses on driving timely financial reporting, internal controls, and accurate accounting across AR, AP, and the general ledger.

You will manage a team, partner with Finance leadership, and lead process improvements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• 3+ years of accounting leadership or supervisory experience.
• Manufacturing or product-based industry experience preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
• SAP or comparable ERP experience.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong financial analysis.
• Excellent organizational, communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills.

We are partnering with an established and growing product-based manufacturing organization in the Charlotte area to identify an experienced Accounting Manager. The company operates in a fast-paced environment and is focused on quality, operational efficiency, and continued growth.

This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys being hands-on, leading a team, improving processes, and working closely with Finance leadership and other departments. The Accounting Manager will play an important role in supporting the company's financial operations and continued development.

Position Summary

The Accounting Manager will oversee core accounting operations, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and support the continued development of the accounting function.

This position will manage the full accounting cycle and provide leadership to the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable teams. The Accounting Manager will work closely with Finance leadership and cross-functional departments in a fast-paced, product-based environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting cycle, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, cash receipts, payroll processing, fixed assets, account reconciliations, and related activities.
• Lead, train, and support the accounting team, including direct oversight of Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable personnel.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Prepare and review financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, gross profit and COGS analysis, fixed asset activity, journal entries, and closing schedules.
• Review complex accounting estimates and entries, including receivable impairment, inventory provisions, lease amortization, and tax liabilities.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, IFRS, internal controls, accounting policies, and established procedures.
• Support external financial and tax audits by preparing and reviewing PBC schedules, samples, reconciliations, adjustments, financial statements, and supporting documentation.
• Oversee inventory accounting, including cycle counts, scrap adjustments, month-end close, cost completeness, allocations, and inventory cutoff.
• Coordinate required filings, including 1099s, 1096s, property tax returns, state annual reports, and applicable sales tax activities.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls.
• Support ERP system enhancements, automation, and scalability initiatives, including SAP-related projects.
• Provide financial analysis related to profitability, margins, costs, and operational performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• At least 3 years of accounting leadership or supervisory experience.
• Manufacturing or product-based industry experience strongly preferred.
• Public accounting or audit experience preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS.
• SAP or comparable ERP experience required.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong financial analysis capabilities.
• Excellent organizational, communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
