Job summary

Ledgent Finance & Accounting in Torrance, CA is seeking an Accounting Manager to join onsite. You will oversee the general ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close, while managing high-volume AP/AR and supporting financial reporting.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (7+ preferred), strong Excel skills, and a proven ability to drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally 7+ years.
• Strong general ledger, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close.
• High-volume AP/AR experience; supervisory experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, XLOOKUPs) and data analysis.
• Attention to detail and strong communication and critical thinking.

Responsibilities

Our client, a family-owned transportation and logistics company, is seeking an Accounting Manager to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys a hands-on role, process improvement, and leadership within a stable, collaborative organization.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee general ledger accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close
• Manage high-volume accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Review financial data and ensure accuracy of accounting records
• Assist with process improvements and accounting workflow efficiencies
• Support financial reporting and audit-related activities
• Lead or mentor accounting staff and contribute to team development

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally 7+ years
• Strong experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close
• Significant AP and AR experience in a high-volume transaction environment
• Prior supervisory experience preferred, but open to a strong Senior Accountant ready to step into management
• Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUPs, and working with large data sets
• Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and critical thinking abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

• Sage 100, MAS 90, or MAS 200 experience
• Experience in transportation, logistics, distribution, manufacturing, or another transaction-heavy industry
