Job summary

Vaco is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its finance leadership team. This role reports to the Controller and leads the month-end close, GL activity, and a team of accounting professionals. You will drive process improvements and collaborate with operations, inventory, IT, and finance leadership to enhance reporting accuracy.

The ideal candidate has strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, an analytical mindset, and a hands-on leadership style.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience managing or leading accounting staff.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience with job costing or operational accounting environments.
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and Lookups.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Oversee general ledger activity, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Supervise and develop a team of accounting professionals.
• Manage job costing, WIP reporting, and cost allocations.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports.

We are partnering with a well-established organization to identify an Accounting Manager to join its growing finance leadership team. This opportunity has become available following an internal organizational restructure and offers the chance to lead a high-performing accounting team while partnering closely with executive leadership.

Reporting directly to the Controller, this individual will oversee the day-to‑day accounting function, lead the month‑end close process, manage a team of accounting professionals, and drive process improvements across the organization. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on accounting leader who combines strong technical accounting skills with an analytical mindset and a collaborative leadership style.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes

• Oversee general ledger activity, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting

• Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals

• Manage job cost accounting, work‑in‑process reporting, and cost allocations

• Prepare and analyze financial statements and management reports

• Support annual audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance activities

• Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and financial processes

• Partner cross‑functionally with operations, inventory, customer service, IT, and finance leadership

• Support financial system reporting and data integrity

• Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy
