Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting supervision or management.
• Experience with month-end close and financial reporting.
• ERP system experience required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes.
• Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements and management reports.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing ongoing coaching and development.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and company accounting policies.
• Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.
• Oversee general ledger accuracy and integrity.
• Coordinate annual audits and serve as a key liaison with external auditors.
• Support ERP system optimization, reporting enhancements, and process improvements.
• Analyze financial results and provide recommendations to improve operational efficiency.
• Monitor inventory accounting, costing, and reconciliations, where applicable.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, finance, and executive leadership teams.

Position Overview

Our client, a growing and dynamic organization in Baltimore County, is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, lead a small accounting team, and support the company's continued growth. This is a hybrid opportunity offering the ability to balance in-office collaboration with remote flexibility.The ideal candidate will bring strong full-cycle accounting experience, prior supervisory responsibility, and the ability to operate both strategically and hands-on. Experience working within an ERP environment is required, and inventory accounting experience is highly preferred. Candidates with public accounting experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

• 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
• 2+ years of accounting supervision or management experience
• Experience managing month-end close and financial reporting processes
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices
• ERP system experience required
• Inventory accounting experience preferred
• Public accounting experience is a strong plusCPA or CPA-track candidates highly preferred
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities

Preferred Background

Public accounting experience with exposure to audit or assurance engagements

Experience within manufacturing, distribution, consumer products, or inventory-intensive environments

Exposure to financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and process improvement initiatives

Proven success leading teams and improving accounting processes through automation and technology
