Job summary

HRB is seeking an Accounting Manager in the Arlington, VA area. The role leads day-to-day accounting operations, including month-end close, financial reporting, and team oversight in a deadline-driven environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting knowledge, leadership ability, and experience managing a team in a fast-paced setting. This is a hybrid position supporting Arlington, VA operations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with supervisory experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• CPA preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee monthly close, reconciliations, and financial reporting activities.
• Manage general ledger operations and ensure timely, accurate accounting results.
• Review journal entries, account analyses, and supporting schedules.
• Supervise accounting staff and support team development.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting processes.
• Partner with leadership on reporting, audit support, and operational improvements.

This role will oversee core operational accounting functions, month-end close, financial reporting, and team/process management.
