Job summary

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing is partnering with a well-established organization in the Fairfax, VA area to recruit a Senior Accountant. This role focuses on core accounting functions, monthly close, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance, 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, and strong ERP experience (NetSuite/Sage Intacct/Unanet/Costpoint). CPA preferred; hybrid work model in the Fairfax, VA area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• CPA preferred.
• Experience with large ERP systems (NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Unanet, Costpoint) is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Support month-end and year-end close processes.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and assist with financial statement preparation.
• Analyze balance sheet and income statement activity and investigate variances.
• Assist with audit support, internal controls, and process improvements.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Support operational accounting activities and special projects as needed.

This role will focus on core operational accounting functions and will support the monthly close, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and continuous process improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
