Job summary

Hudbay is seeking an Accounting Lead in the United States (Arizona) to support the accuracy of financial records from daily transactions to close. This regional role oversees close processes, journal entries, reconciliations, and the presentation of financial statements under US GAAP and IFRS, and partners with external and internal auditors.

You will lead a team of accounting professionals, manage intercompany and JV accounting, and help maintain robust internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA/CMA or MBA preferred.
• 5 years progressive accounting experience with 2 years in a supervisor role.
• Experience with SAP and joint venture accounting.
• Experience with multiple company codes and intercompany transactions.
• Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.
• Mining/industrial industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct and support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Review and approve journal entries and reconciliations.
• Oversee financial statements under US GAAP and IFRS.
• Oversee JV accounting and consolidation.
• Manage intercompany transactions and eliminations.
• Lead internal controls over financial reporting.
• Coordinate audits and Prepared by Client (PBC) requests.
• Lead and develop accounting team.
