Werner Enterprises in Omaha, NE offers a paid 11-week summer internship that blends classroom learning with real-world accounting experience. Based at our Corporate Headquarters, the program includes dedicated training, job shadowing, and opportunities to work on month-end processes.

Interns gain hands-on exposure to SEC reporting preparation, balance sheet reconciliations, and collaboration within the accounting team.

Qualificações

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Completion of introductory tax and accounting coursework preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsabilidades

• Aid in month-end financial statement preparation including journal entries for accruals and expenses.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and review individual transactions.
• Compile documentation for quarterly SEC reporting and external auditor review.
• Report to accounting department upper management and complete various tasks as needed.

The program consists of an 11-week immersion into Werner Enterprises.

Internship Overview

Paid internship that includes dedicated job training and learning opportunities Located at our Corporate Headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska (some remote and off-site opportunities may be available) Collaborative, inclusive work environment Real-world experience Paid housing/housing assistance may be available Accounting major required

Responsibilities

• Aid in the preparation of month end financial statements for Werner Enterprises and subsidiaries which may include: Recording journal entries for accrual of revenue and expense Reconciling balance sheet accounts Reviewing individual transactions within assigned general ledger accounts Compile documentation for quarterly SEC reporting and external auditor review Report directly to accounting department upper management and complete various departmental tasks as needed

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Completion of introductory tax and accounting coursework preferred.
