Packaging Corporation of America is seeking an Accounting Associate to maintain accounting records and produce timely reports and statements aligned with GAAP.

Responsibilities include posting to the GL, processing AP, handling AR adjustments, and supporting weekly payroll. The role involves month-end closings, filing, and responding to corporate requests while maintaining confidentiality and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Education equivalent to high school diploma.
• 1+ year experience in a business office/accounting function with exposure to GL, payroll, and/or AP.
• Solid working knowledge of accounting procedures.
• Strong MS Excel knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Post entries to the general ledger and balance accounts.
• Process accounts payable transactions including batch payments.
• Post, audit and collect accounts receivable transactions.
• Support weekly hourly payroll processing.
• Assist with month-end closings of the financials for the plant.
• Maintain accounting and payroll files per record keeping policies.
• Provide admin support and manage electronic/physical files as needed.
• Respond to corporate requests and ensure timely submission of requirements.
