Job summary

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Lexington is seeking an Accounting and Financial Controller to oversee the month-end close, budgeting and audit support. The role requires presenting financial information to groups and occasional travel within the Diocese.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and financial statements as part of monthly close.
• Analyze and explain budget to actual variances to Finance Officer.
• Reconcile intercompany and other transactional activity.
• Assist with budgeting, the financial audit and other special projects as needed.
• Travel occasionally within the Diocese and present to groups.

Job description

The Chancery is seeking candidates for an Accounting and Financial Controller.

Candidates need a strong accounting background, either a CPA license or extensive experience preparing journal entries and financial statements, analyzing and explaining budget to actual variances, reconciling intercompany and other type transactions, and assisting the Finance Officer with budgeting, the financial audit and other special projects, as needed.

Candidates must be willing to occasionally travel within the Diocese and feel comfortable presenting to a group.

The position requires an independent and proactive work ethic with strong interpersonal skills.

Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in Word, Excel and Quick Books.

Candidates should be able to multi-task, and be organized, prompt, dependable and trustworthy with confidential matters.

The position is Full-Time at the Chancery and available for a mid-September start date.
