Job summary

The Diocese of Jefferson City is seeking an experienced Accountant to support the Controller and CFO. You will help ensure accurate and timely financial reports for the Chancery office and assist with month-end and year-end close.

The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of not-for-profit accounting experience, strong knowledge of financial statements and reconciliations, and proficiency with Sage Intacct and QuickBooks Online. Limited travel within the Diocese may be necessary.

Job description

The Diocese of Jefferson City is seeking an experienced Accountant to support the Controller and CFO of the Diocese. Essential functions would include ensuring that the financial reports for the Diocese Chancery office are completed accurately and on time. This individual will assist in preparation for month end and year end close and assists in general ledger account reconciliations.

The ideal candidate will have 3 - 5 years not for profit experience with a good knowledge of financial statements, general ledger, account and bank reconciliations, and Sage Intacct and QuickBooks online software.

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field is preferred. We are seeking a candidate with strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate with all stakeholders (bishop, pastors, and parish bookkeepers). This position requires the individual to be self-directed with the ability to exercise good judgment in handling difficult and/or sensitive information while maintaining a strict level of confidentiality.

Limited travel within the Diocese of Jefferson City may be necessary.
