SUMMARY: Supervises accounting staff engaged in processing District financial accounting functions including: Posting to the general ledger, accounting for revenues, providing for proper internal accounting procedures and controls and accounting for federal programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Other duties may be assigned .
Directly supervises employees in accounting. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include assisting the Associate Superintendent with interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Bachelor's degree in accounting from an accredited college or university; and three (3) years experience working as a supervisor in an accounting capacity. School accounting and reporting experience is desirable. Experience with Budget production and control. Knowledge of computers.
Possess or be eligible to earn the Business Office Manager certification through MSBO.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Requires logical thinking process.
Proficiency with computer applications. Office supervisory experience required. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
