Job summary

Atrium in Florida seeks an Accounting Director to lead grant accounting and general ledger activities within the centralized Accounting Department, reporting to the CFO. You will oversee and audit grant accounting and maintain the GL, ensuring accuracy and policy compliance.

The role includes overseeing month-end close, supervising staff, and directing daily operations across AP, payroll, cash receipts, and financial reporting while partnering with Finance leadership on budgeting and ad hoc

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
• 5–6 years of accounting experience.
• 2–3+ years in a managerial role.
• Experience in nonprofit, grant, or fund accounting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the month-end close process, including journal entries, GL review, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Supervise accounting staff by assigning work, guiding, and reviewing for accuracy.
• Oversee grant accounting, fixed assets, and other accounting functions for compliance.
• Oversee daily accounting and finance operations: AP, cash receipts, payroll, payments, reconciliations.
• Assist with budgeting, audits, financial analysis, and ad hoc reporting.
• Maintain and improve processes and internal controls; utilize Sage Intacct and Concur with other departments.

Salary/Hourly Rate

$80k - $95k

Position Overview

The Accounting Director will join the unified Accounting Department, reporting directly to the CFO and working closely with the accounting team. The Accounting Director will oversee and audit grant accounting and general ledger maintenance activities.

Responsibilities Of The Accounting Director

• Manage the month-end close process, including journal entries, general ledger review, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Supervise and support accounting staff by assigning work, providing guidance, and reviewing work for accuracy.
• Oversee grant accounting, fixed assets, and other accounting functions to ensure accurate records and compliance with company policies.
• Oversee daily accounting and finance operations, including accounts payable, cash receipts, payroll, payments, and reconciliations.
• Assist with budgeting, audits, financial analysis, and ad hoc reporting as needed by Finance leadership.
• Maintain and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and systems, including Sage Intacct and Concur, while working with other departments on financial needs.

Required Experience/Skills For The Accounting Director

• Minimum 5-6 years of experience.
• 2-3+ years in a managerial capacity.

Preferred Experience/Skills For The Accounting Director

• Experience within nonprofit, grant, or fund accounting preferred.
