Client Overview:

Our client is a well-established nonprofit community-based organization with a strong presence throughout Florida and is looking to add an Accounting Director to its growing team. The organization provides a professional and collaborative environment where finance professionals have the opportunity to work on complex accounting, financial reporting, compliance, and strategic initiatives while contributing to continued growth and success.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$80k - $95k

Position Overview:

The Accounting Director will join the unified Accounting Department, reporting directly to the CFO and working closely with the accounting team. The Accounting Director will oversee and audit grant accounting and general ledger maintenance activities.

Responsibilities of the Accounting Director:

• Manage the month-end close process, including journal entries, general ledger review, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Supervise and support accounting staff by assigning work, providing guidance, and reviewing work for accuracy.
• Oversee grant accounting, fixed assets, and other accounting functions to ensure accurate records and compliance with company policies.
• Oversee daily accounting and finance operations, including accounts payable, cash receipts, payroll, payments, and reconciliations.
• Assist with budgeting, audits, financial analysis, and ad hoc reporting as needed by Finance leadership.
• Maintain and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and systems, including Sage Intacct and Concur, while working with other departments on financial needs.

Required Experience/Skills for the Accounting Director:

• Minimum 5-6 years of experience.
• 2-3+ years in a managerial capacity.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Accounting Director:

• Experience within nonprofit, grant, or fund accounting preferred.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
