Qualifications

• 10+ years of accounting and finance experience
• Prior experience as a Financial Controller, Accounting Director or similar
• Experience in a manufacturing company and cost accounting
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and reporting standards
• CPA or CMA certification

Responsibilities

• Take charge of all accounting and financial statement preparation activities and lead a team of four professionals in the accounting department
• Ensure accuracy and compliance in the preparation of company financial statements
• Manage the daily operations of the department, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, accounting, fixed assets, and cash management
• Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce accurate financial reports and statements compliant with GAAP
• Administer and implement robust internal financial controls and procedures to uphold the integrity of financial operations
• Manage compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and collaborate with external firms on tax filings
• Lead the coordination of the annual financial statement audit with external partners
• Analyze existing processes and procedures to identify opportunities for enhanced efficiency and effectiveness in the financial statement preparation process
• Perform any other duties as required in support of the overall financial management objectives

Summary/Objective

The Financial Controller is responsible for managing comprehensive financial reporting across our five manufacturing plants and corporate headquarters. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, this role entails overseeing all aspects of financial control and ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Essential Functions

• Take charge of all accounting and financial statement preparation activities and lead a team of four professionals in the accounting department.


• Ensure accuracy and compliance in the preparation of company financial statements.


• Manage the daily operations of the department, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, accounting, fixed assets, and cash management.


• Monitor and analyze accounting data to produce accurate financial reports and statements compliant with GAAP principles.

Education And Experience

• 10+ years of accounting and finance experience


• Prior experience as a Financial Controller, Accounting Director or similar


• Experience in a manufacturing company and cost accounting


• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and reporting standards


• CPA or CMA certification

Not Required But a Plus

• Experience working in Infor, Epicor, or MS Great Plains


• Experience with ERP implementation or at a public company


• Cash/AP/AR process automation software
