Job summary

Randstad USA in Rockville, MD is seeking an Accounting Coordinator to support day-to-day accounting needs, focusing on AP/AR, reconciliations, inventory-related accounting, and general accounting tasks. The role also offers opportunities to assist with order processing and other operational needs in a lean, growing environment.

The ideal candidate has entry-level experience, familiarity with QuickBooks, and a desire to learn and grow within the company.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on accounting, bookkeeping, AP/AR, or similar experience.
• Understanding of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes.
• Experience with reconciliations and transactional accounting.
• Comfortable researching discrepancies and following transactions through to resolution.
• Experience with QuickBooks or another accounting/ERP system.
• Excel skills and comfort working with financial data.
• Highly organized with attention to detail and follow-through.
• Able to work independently and shift priorities within a growing business.

Responsibilities

• Support Accounts Receivable including customer invoicing, payment posting, account inquiries, aging, and collections.
• Support Accounts Payable including vendor invoices, purchase-order matching, payment preparation, and vendor inquiries.
• Assist with inventory reconciliation and help ensure inventory records align across operational and accounting systems.
• Manage and coordinate customer orders from receipt through processing and fulfillment.
• Work with purchase orders, invoices, credits/debits, and supporting documentation.
• Partner with accounting, operations, warehouse/fulfillment, customers, and vendors to resolve order discrepancies.
• Review shipping and freight charges and assist with proper allocation.
• Research and resolve billing, order, payment, and inventory discrepancies.
• Assist with reconciliations, reporting, and month-end accounting activities.
• Maintain accurate customer, vendor, order, and financial records.
• Help identify opportunities to improve processes as the company continues to scale.
