Job summary

TRC Talent Solutions in Dunwoody, GA is seeking an experienced Accounting Controller to oversee financial operations, reporting, and internal controls for our staffing organization. This role reports directly to the Senior VP and CFO to ensure accurate financial data and timely close.

You will develop dashboards with Power BI, manage GAAP compliance, and lead accounting staff while partnering on cash flow planning and cost-control initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA a plus.
• 2–4 years accounting experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or controller role.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI, GP, Excel and Dynamics 365 BC.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations: AP, AR, payroll, and GL.
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes for accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts for leadership.
• Develop dashboards and reporting using Power BI for real-time insights.
• Lead staff, mentor team, and ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls.
• Partner with Senior VP and CFO on cash flow, planning, and cost control.
• Liaise with external auditors, banks, and financial institutions.

About the Role

TRC Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced Accounting Controller to oversee financial operations, reporting, and internal controls for our staffing organization. This role reports directly to the Senior VP and CFO and is critical to ensuring accurate financial data, streamlined processes, and insightful reporting that supports strategic decision‑making across the company.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and general ledger management
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts, presenting findings to the CFO
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting using Power BI to provide real-time financial insights to leadership
• Manage financial systems and processes within Great Plains (GP) and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and internal financial policies
• Lead and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of accuracy and accountability
• Partner with the Senior VP and CFO on cash flow management, financial planning, and cost control initiatives
• Manage relationships with external auditors, banks, and financial institutions
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and systems efficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA a plus)
• 2-4 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or controller role
• Required: Hands-on experience with Power BI, Great Plains (GP), Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• Staffing or professional services industry experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
• Ability to work onsite and collaborate cross-functionally with operations and sales teams
