Job summary

Primero Games, LLC is seeking a Controller to oversee daily financial operations across affiliated entities in a 100% on-site role in Norcross, GA. You will partner with senior leadership to deliver actionable financial insights and drive process improvements.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years as a controller or senior financial leader, 5+ years leading accounting teams, and prefers CPA firm and regulated gaming experience. Bachelor's in finance or accounting required.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day financial and accounting operations across affiliated companies.
  • Provide strategic direction with actionable financial insights.
  • Lead monthly/annual closes and inter-company reconciliations.
  • Ensure GAAP compliance and maintain internal controls.
  • Develop budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
  • Manage cash, assets, and banking relationships.

Job description

The Controller will oversee the day-to-day financial and accounting operations across multiple affiliated companies, while providing strategic direction and operational leadership. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong expertise in financial management, team leadership, and cross-functional communication. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of partnering with senior leadership to provide actionable financial insights and sound operational guidance.

Key Responsibilities:
Business & Financial Operations
  • Develop, monitor, and report on key business performance indicators, including budgets, cash flow, A/R, A/P, and inventory metrics.
  • Provide accurate financial projections and scenario planning to support strategic decision-making.
  • Oversee weekly and monthly financial reports; conduct variance analysis and ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Accounting & Compliance
  • Lead monthly and year-end closing processes for all route entities, including inter-company reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls by maintaining and improving accounting policies and audit procedures.
  • Manage external audit relationships and coordinate the timely completion of all audit requests.
Tax & Regulatory Compliance
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of tax documents, including sales and property tax.
  • Supervise annual 1099 preparation and distribution.
  • Collaborate with external advisors on tax planning strategies and ensure full regulatory compliance.
  • Lead, train, and manage the finance and accounting team, ensuring clear accountability, collaboration, and performance monitoring.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and high professional standards.
Cash & Asset Management
  • Partner with the Accounting Manager on cash management strategies and long-term financial planning.
  • Manage relationships with banking partners and financial institutions.
  • Oversee fixed asset tracking, including the depreciation schedule and related reconciliations.
Inventory & Credit Management
  • Approve inventory adjustments, ensure accurate reconciliation, and manage purchasing/auditing processes.
Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Collaborate with regional managers to develop and manage annual budgets and sales forecasts.
  • Provide impact analysis for budget adjustments and company policy updates.
Qualifications & Experience:
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years as a Controller or senior financial leader.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing accounting or finance teams.
  • CPA firm experience (2+ years) strongly preferred.
  • Regulated gaming experience is strongly preferred.
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field required.
Technical Proficiency
  • Strong knowledge of QuickBooks, Excel, and a willingness to learn proprietary platforms is a plus.
  • Ability to leverage technology for process optimization and reporting accuracy.
Leadership & Communication
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage across all organizational levels.
  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills and sound judgment in handling confidential information.
  • Proven ability to multitask and manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
