Job summary

FarrWest Environmental Supply and FarrWest Specialty Vehicles are seeking an Accounting Clerk to support day-to-day accounts payable, accounts receivable, and data entry in QuickBooks. You will maintain vendor/customer records, assist with month-end close, and provide general accounting support across departments.

The role requires high attention to detail, ability to work under deadlines, and strong communication with vendors and customers.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, or general bookkeeping.
• High-volume, detail-heavy data entry.
• QuickBooks experience; Desktop Enterprise a plus.
• Working proficiency in Excel.
• Strong attention to detail under deadline pressure.
• Clear, professional written and verbal communication with vendors and customers.
• Trustworthy with confidential financial information.
• High school diploma required; Associate degree or accounting coursework a plus.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet daily, weekly, and month-end deadlines.
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills.
• Ability to work independently while escalating issues when needed.
• Collaborative, team-oriented mindset and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices and match to PO/receipt in QuickBooks.
• Enter bills with reference numbers, dates, and amounts.
• Verify receipt status before releasing payment.
• Prepare weekly check run and process vendor payments.
• Reconcile vendor statements monthly; flag discrepancies.
• Maintain vendor files with W-9s and contact information.
• Respond to vendor payment inquiries.
• Track open payment requests to payment.
• Process and post customer invoices same day for FES/FSV.
• Apply customer payments, credits, and adjustments to open invoices.
• Monitor AR aging and collect past due balances.
• Respond to customer billing inquiries.
• Support month-end AR cutoff.
• Record inventory cycle counts in QuickBooks.
• Update item setups, assemblies, and bills of materials.
• File and organize AP/AR documentation.
• Assist with weekly Open Sales Order/PO reports.
• Provide general accounting support and receptionist backup.
