The Accounting Clerk performs various accounting duties including processing accounts receivable, invoicing, accounts payable, collections, and unclaimed property reporting. Responsibilities also include managing utility accounts, processing utility billing and service orders, performing municipal court clerk duties, and handling business licensing. Additionally, this role involves receptionist duties at City Hall, such as answering phones, greeting customers, processing payments at the front desk, and handling mail. The position supports the Finance Department by cross-training with the Accounting Supervisor to provide backup and by performing other clerical duties as assigned.
This position must adhere to the City of Toledo's policies and procedures at all times and maintain effective working relationships with other City departments and staff to foster a cooperative team environment. Maintaining a professional image and positive public relations is also essential.
