Job summary

MotoRad is seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team in Mount Carmel, IL. This position is responsible for accurate customer cash application, credit memo processing, receivables monitoring, collections, reconciliations, and customer account support.

Collaborates with internal departments to resolve discrepancies and support timely cash collection. Key duties include applying payments, reconciling balances, monitoring AR aging, and supporting month-end close.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting or business preferred.
• Accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or general accounting experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel (formulas, filters, and PivotTables).
• Strong accuracy, organization, analytical ability, confidentiality, and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize deadlines and resolve issues independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Process credit memos and coordinate corrections with sales and customer service.
• Apply ACH, wire, and check payments; investigate unapplied cash and short payments.
• Reconcile cash receipts, customer balances, and accounts receivable subledger activity.
• Monitor AR aging, contact customers about past-due balances, and document collection follow-up.
• Research payment disputes, deductions, chargebacks, and outstanding credit balances.
• Maintain customer master data, billing contacts, credit terms, and exemption certificates.
• Support approved credit limits, credit reviews, and escalation of delinquent accounts.
• Prepare customer statements and aging schedules
• Coordinate with shipping and logistics to resolve freight, shortage, return, and proof-of-delivery issues.
• Assist with month-end close, approved journal entries, and other assigned accounting tasks.

Manufacturing / Distribution Focus:

Track customer deductions related to pricing, freight, shortages, and damaged goods; reconcile returns and credit memos; support customer payment reconciliation and customer order credit holds as authorized.

Preferred Job Requirements / Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree in accounting or business preferred.
• Accounts receivable, bookkeeping, or general accounting experience preferred.
• Proficiency in Excel (formulas, filters, and PivotTables).
• Strong accuracy, organization, analytical ability, confidentiality, and communication skills.
