Job Description
The Accounting Clerk position involves a variety of accounting and financial tasks to support the daily operations of the department. Main duties include new customer entry, invoicing, accounts payable, data entry, and month-end support. This is an onsite role in an office environment, requiring extensive sitting and the ability to take stairs. Previous accounting and accurate data entry experience are required; EPICOR experience is preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage New Customer Set-Up: Enter accurate customer information into the system, ensuring completeness and proper formatting to facilitate transactions and communication.
- Invoicing and Billing Support: Prepare and issue accurate customer invoices promptly, reflecting correct charges.
- Accounts Payable Processing: Review, process, and enter invoices, ensuring timely vendor payments and resolving discrepancies.
- Month-End Financial Data Entry: Input and reconcile financial data for month-end reporting, supporting accurate financial records.
- Data Entry & Record Maintenance: Accurately input and maintain large volumes of financial data for reporting and future reference.
- Assist with Financial Analysis & Reporting: Support financial projects by compiling data, running reports, and ensuring accuracy.
- Maintain Financial Records: Organize and retain accounting files in accordance with procedures and compliance standards.
- Support Auditing and Compliance Tasks: Provide documentation for audits and ensure records meet regulatory requirements.
- Cross-Department Collaboration: Work with other departments to resolve invoicing issues and customer account concerns.
- Other Duties: Provide additional administrative support as needed, including ad-hoc projects.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with basic accounting knowledge.
- Experience with EPICOR and QuickBooks is a plus.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and planning skills.
- Positive attitude, ability to multitask, and follow up diligently.
- Previous bookkeeping or accounting experience is advantageous.
Work Environment
Primarily in an office setting, with occasional activities in a manufacturing facility requiring PPE and exposure to noise, dust, heat, and cold. Safety awareness is essential. The role requires the ability to take stairs and perform extensive sitting.
