Job summary

Emerson in Boulder, Colorado is seeking an experienced Accounting Business Partner to support the Flow Measurement Products business. You will ensure accurate financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and drive compliance while partnering with business leaders to enable strategic decision making.

Responsibilities include coordinating month-end close, performing variance analyses, and ensuring timely financial statements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Five (5) or more years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls.
• Experience performing financial analysis, variance analysis, and reconciliations.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate and influence across multiple levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Ability to work effectively with global shared services organizations and cross-functional teams.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States. Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities that are not centralized within Global Financial Services.
• Perform variance analysis and provide clear explanations for financial results and accounting fluctuations.
• Partner with business leaders, the Controller, and Global Financial Services teams to ensure accounting processes are completed accurately, timely, and in compliance with company policies.
• Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, balance sheet account reviews, financial statement preparation, and management reporting.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls while supporting internal and external audit activities, statutory reporting requirements, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate on process improvement initiatives and systems projects that enhance reporting capabilities, operational efficiency, and data accuracy.
• Leverage technology, including AI-enabled tools, to improve financial processes, reporting, and analysis.
• Provide guidance and support to business partners and colleagues on financial processes, accounting best practices, and compliance requirements.
