Job summary

AppleOne Employment Services is seeking a Billing/Payroll Clerk to monitor accounts payable daily and assist in supervising routine accounting functions. The role includes payroll processing, maintaining confidential employee records, and enforcing company standards to improve billing and collections efficiency.

The position requires proficiency in Excel and accounting software, with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years’ experience in bookkeeping, billing, or a related Accounting function is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
• Thorough knowledge of industry best practices, risk assessment techniques, standards, and applicable laws and regulations in accounting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor accounts payable daily and obtain necessary approvals.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements including balance sheets and income reports.
• Process bi-weekly payroll accurately and timely; resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain payroll records and employee data with confidentiality.
• Enforce standards, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and efficiency.
• Oversee posting of payments to customer accounts and reconcile accounts receivable.
• Develop and analyze reports and communicate findings to management.
• Assist in accounting system improvements as needed.
• Record and maintain current customer account information and collection status.
• Monitor collections and inform credit departments when action is needed; escalate to attorneys as required.
• Investigate and resolve customer issues while providing quality service.
