Job summary

Bridge Specialty Group in Saint Petersburg, FL seeks two Accounting Associates to join our Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams. You will post daily cash deposits, research misapplied funds, and assist with collections and reconciliation tasks, collaborating with underwriting and carriers as needed.

Bridge Specialty Group is seeking two Accounting Associates to join our Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams in St. Petersburg, FL!

How You Will Contribute:

• Responsible for posting daily cash deposits received in a variety of ways (EPAY/ACH/Lockbox/Physical Checks etc..).
• Responsible for research and proper posting of misapplied/unapplied funds.
• Research and resolve credits on account either through proper application or refund processing.
• Responsible for first outreach regarding past due/bad debt collections.
• Assists with DNOC/Cancellation processing and follow-ups.
• Applying and contacting agents and/or underwriting with discrepancies.
• Assists with corrections and day-to-day accounting issues with underwriting teams.
• Answer questions from agents regarding balances & work with them on getting issues resolved.
• Assists with premium corrections and day-to-day accounting issues with underwriting teams.
• Assists with reconciling and clearing Surplus Lines Tax payments for various states.
• Corresponds with carriers regarding balances & works with Carriers and/or underwriting teams to resolve issues and reconcile discrepancies.
• Corresponds with carriers to ensure return premium funds are collected timely and recorded appropriately.
• Cross-trained accounting functions to help fill-in covering vacations, illness, or any other absence.

Skills & Experience to Be Successful:

• Minimum education or prior job experience- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one – three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficient with MS Office.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
