Job summary

Avesta Housing is seeking an Accounting Assistant to support day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable. The role focuses on accurate financial processing, organized records, and collaboration with Accounting Specialists and Property Management staff.

The position is full-time, on-site at our Maine headquarters, with a pay range of $20.50–$24.00 per hour and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree/certificate in accounting or related field preferred.
  • Experience in accounting, banking or administrative support is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting principles preferred.

Requirements
  • Associate degree or certificate in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience considered.
  • Experience in an accounting, banking or administrative support role preferred.
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting principles preferred.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite

This is a full-time (37.5 hours/week) position, and the hourly rate of pay is $20.50 - $24.00, commensurate with experience .

Work Location

This job is on-site at our headquarters located at 307 Cumberland Ave, Portland, Maine.
