About the Opportunity
A long-established international investment firm with a strong record of employee longevity is seeking a highly experienced Accounting & Finance Assistant to support the firm's senior finance leadership. This position is ideal for a tenured professional who enjoys stability, structure, and working in a small, quiet office with a global organization behind it.
The role involves hands-on bookkeeping, financial statement support, tax coordination, and working closely with senior leadership on investor-related activities. This is not a high-turnover or high-pressure environment; it is best suited for someone who values consistency and long-term alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support senior finance leadership with day-to-day accounting operations
- Manage bookkeeping tasks, including journal entries, debits/credits, and trial balance activity in QuickBooks
- Assist with quarterly financial statement preparation (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow)
- Prepare detailed spreadsheets and reporting packages for external tax and audit partners
- Review basic tax documents, including returns and K-1s, to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Maintain documentation, mail handling, engagement letters, and other administrative finance tasks
- Serve as an on-site presence to support office continuity and investor-related needs
- Ensure all work is completed with strong accuracy, attention to detail, and adherence to established processes
Qualifications
- 15-20+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (degree optional)
- Strong understanding of core financial statements (BS, IS, CF)
- Familiarity with tax forms, returns, and K-1 structures
- Advanced Excel proficiency
- QuickBooks experience required
- Highly detail-oriented with the ability to follow established procedures consistently
- Stable work history
- Comfortable working independently in a small office environment
