  • Ability to learn accounting and payroll software quickly.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial and employee information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Construction industry experience is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Enter customer invoices, vendor bills, payments, and deposits into accounting software.
  • Process customer payments and maintain accurate accounts receivable records.
  • Record and track checks, electronic payments, and bank transactions.
  • Assist with contract entry and maintenance, ensuring documentation is complete and organized.
  • Enter employee payroll information and verify payroll data for accuracy.
  • Review and enter employee timesheets.
  • Assist with job costing by allocating labor hours, payroll costs, materials, and other expenses to specific projects.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and filing systems, both electronic and physical.
  • Assist with account reconciliations and data verification.
  • Generate reports and spreadsheets as requested by management.
  • Support month-end and year-end accounting activities.
  • Communicate with customers, vendors, and employees regarding documentation and payment information as needed.
  • Perform general administrative and accounting duties assigned by management.

Position Summary

Rehmann is searching for an Accounting Assistant for our client in the southwest Florida area. Our client isseeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Assistant to support our accounting and administrative operations. This position is responsible for accurately entering and maintaining financial and job-related data, assisting with payroll processing, tracking project costs, and supporting the accounting team with day-to-day administrative functions.

This role is ideal for someone pursuing a career in accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or business administration and looking to gain hands-on experience in the construction industry.
