Job summary

Flint Hills Resources is seeking an Accounting Analyst to join the CFO organization at our corporate headquarters in Wichita, KS. This role focuses on supporting inventory accounting, billing processes, reconciliations, and financial reporting while identifying opportunities to improve and automate accounting workflows.

You will engage with cross-functional teams and leverage data analytics and AI-enabled tools to drive accuracy, efficiency, and better business insights for decision-makers.

Qualifications

• Experience in accounting/finance roles.
• Proficient with MS Office, including Excel and Access.
• This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Manage inventory accounting activities, including book-to-physical tie-outs, billing exceptions, discrepancy resolution, and ensuring timely and accurate invoice and payment processing.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and support regulatory and government reporting requirements.
• Apply critical thinking to identify root causes, evaluate alternatives, and develop practical solutions to accounting and business challenges.
• Challenge existing processes and identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, automate, and enhance accounting workflows through technology, data analytics, and AI-enabled solutions.
• Leverage reporting, analytics, and digital tools to identify trends, improve decision-making, and increase operational efficiency.
• Partner with Commercial, Operations, IT, and other business capabilities to deliver value and improve business outcomes.
