Job summary

Williams is seeking an Accountant I in Tulsa, OK to support month-end close, reconcile accounts, and assist with internal and external reporting. The role offers exposure to SEC reporting, process improvement, and cross-functional teamwork in a Fortune 500 energy company.

You will develop your accounting skills through early career programming while balancing educational pursuits and maintaining a strong emphasis on accuracy, efficiency, and professional growth.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related major with a 2026/2027 graduation date.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and financial skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Performs month-end activities including journal entries, reconciliations, reporting and variance analysis.
  • Prepares schedules, reports, and analyses for internal/external customers.
  • Provides documentation and explanations for audit processes.
  • Participates in team projects and supports cross-functional initiatives.
  • Analyzes data for process improvements with focus on efficiency and automation.

Responsibilities/Expectations:
  • Performs assigned month-end activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, management reporting, SEC reporting and variance analysis
  • Prepares, maintains and develops schedules, reports, and analyses for internal/external customers
  • Provides requested documentation and clear explanations for both internal and external audit processes
  • Participates as a team member to support various projects
  • Processes and analyzes significant amounts of data while identifying opportunities for process improvement with a focus on efficiency and automation
  • Other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience:
  • Required: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related major with a graduation date of December 2026 or May 2027
  • This position is not eligible for sponsorship
  • Must possess valid State Driver’s License and clean driving record
Shift/Work Hours/Travel Requirements:

Available to work some overtime as the need arises during critical quarterly closings/reporting

  • Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications
  • Promotes effective cross-functional communication and collaboration within the team and across departments
