Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. seeks a qualified accounting professional to support timely general ledger closing. Under supervision, you will post journal entries, reconcile accounts, process fixed assets, review leases/contracts, and ensure SOX controls are documented.

The role is domiciled at a FedEx Freight location in Memphis, TN or Harrison, AR with in-person presence several times per week. Required: Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance and two years of accounting experience; strong GAAP

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related quantitative field.
• Two years of accounting experience in financial reporting.
• Working knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
• Proficiency with business software and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and posts journal entries, reconciliations, fixed asset processing, accruals, and budget variance reviews.
• Analyses large elements of revenue and expense for internal reporting.
• Ensures general ledger balances are GAAP compliant and SOX-tested.
• Coordinates with business partners on accounting policies and procedures.
• Adheres to applicable laws, regulations and company policies; performs other duties as assigned.
