Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. is seeking a capable accountant to support the accurate and timely closing of the general ledger under moderate supervision. The role involves journal entries, reconciliations, fixed assets, lease/contract reviews, accruals, and variance analysis.

You will ensure GAAP compliance, document internal controls, and participate in process improvements while mentoring junior staff and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; related experience may offset education.
• Four years of accounting experience in financial reporting in a public firm or large corporate setting.
• GAAP knowledge and strong analytical abilities are essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and posts journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Performs fixed asset processing and lease/contract reviews.
• Conducts accruals and budget variance reviews.
• Researches large revenue/expense elements and related internal reporting.
• Ensures GL balances are GAAP compliant and SOX documented.
• Leads accounting initiatives and process improvements.
• Mentors less senior staff and adheres to laws and company policies.
