Job summary

Valley Health is seeking an Accounting Analyst to assist in the compilation and delivery of financial and business analysis for Valley Health System and affiliates. You will work closely with Finance & Treasury Affairs, Accounts Payable, and Payroll teams.

Primary duties include journal entries, reconciliations, and building reports; attention to detail and accuracy are essential. Strong communication across management is required to support close processes and ad hoc analyses.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• 1–3 years of Accounting or Finance experience.
• Experience with accounting or financial systems and GAAP knowledge.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and reconciliations.
• Interface multiple software applications (e.g., Epic to Infor/Lawson).
• Build and maintain reports in various software applications.
• Ensure data integrity and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Support finance, treasury, and analytic functions and participate in special projects.

The Accounting Analyst assists in the compilation and subsequent delivery of financial and business analysis for Valley Health System and affiliates. The Accounting Analyst works closely with Finance & Treasury Affairs, Accounts Payable, & Payroll departments.

Key responsibilities

Key responsibilities include preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and interfacing various software applications (for example Epic to Infor/Lawson). The Accounting Analyst will build and maintain reports in different software applications. Requires attention to detail and accuracy. Responsible for performing day-to-day financial reporting and analysis for assigned functional areas. Researches and resolves inquiries for assigned functional areas. Routine communication with management relating to financial close, issues and deliverables. The Analyst is responsible for gathering operational data and ensuring data integrity and accuracy. Assists in special projects as necessary and supports the organization in accounting, finance, treasury, and analytic functions. Demonstrates adaptability and flexibility to changes to new ideas and responses.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.

Experience

1-3 years of Accounting or Finance experience required.

Qualifications

Experience in using accounting or financial systems required. Knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), in addition to hospital and health system policies. Proficient in Microsoft Office products required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel and management in a large organization required. Ability to work with minimal supervision required. Excellent organizational skills required. Deadline oriented and able to multi-task required.
