Job summary

The Atlantic Group is partnering with a large hedge fund in the Stamford, CT area to fill an Accounting Analyst role on a full-time contract basis with potential to become permanent based on performance.

You’ll join the Accounting Operations team to process invoices, assist with monthly close, prepare cash flow projections, and support global filing obligations across multiple jurisdictions in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year of finance or accounting experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Pivot Tables) preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong quantitative analytical skills; familiarity with data analysis and databases is desirable.
• Self-motivated with a hands-on approach and ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Process vendor invoices, coding, due dates, taxation, and batch invoices for payment across multiple countries.
• Research and resolve complex payment and vendor issues; ensure timely resolution of payment failures.
• Collaborate with third-party service provider handling OCR and Workday integration.
• Assist in monthly close with balance sheet reconciliations, variances analysis, and journal entries.
• Prepare global filing obligations (e.g., Forms US 1099, 1042, HK IR56M, UK IR35) by deadlines.
• Assist with system improvements, policies and procedures compliance.
• Prepare cash flow projections.
• Support audits and inter-department information requests.

A Career with the Team

The Accounting Operations team consists of a group of professionals that are responsible for the processing, accounting, taxation and payments of invoices, travel and expense reimbursements and related payments for the management companies, related family office entities, and the company’s funds. In addition, the candidate is expected to have the capacity to develop professionally and build leadership skills to assume increased responsibilities in the department over time. The successful candidate must be able to handle complex processes proactively and independently and meet required deadlines. The candidate must also be able to perform and excel in a dynamic, fast paced environment and work effectively under pressure.

What you’ll do

• Process vendor invoices, apply the correct coding, manage due dates, apply the appropriate taxation and batch the invoices for payment across multiple countries, including U.S., U.K., France, Poland, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan and Australia.
• Independently research, analyze and resolve complex payment and vendor issues and ensure payment failures are identified and resolved timely
• Proactively resolve issues before they escal
• Manage and process new suppliers and supplier changes in accordance with Firm policy
• Collaborate with the US third party service provider responsible for managing and capturing our invoices through their OCR system, code and sent to Workday.
• Assist in the monthly close process by performing balance sheet reconciliations, identification and explanation of variances and preparation of journal entries
• Preparation of global filing obligations within the required deadlines and in compliance with specific jurisdiction rules, regulations and reporting requirements (e.g., Forms US 1099, 1042, HK IR56M and UK IR35)
• Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of systems, procedures and policies to ensure adherence to company guidelines
• Prepare cash flow projections
• Interact closely and build strong relationships with other teams in the Finance Department and across the Firm
• Prepare required information for external and internal audits
• Assist with the T&E process, audits, payments and questions

What’s required:

• Candidates to have at least 1 year of finance or accounting experience. Experience in accounts payable is desirable, but not a requirement.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, but other academic backgrounds will be considered
• Strong proficiency in computer skills/experience. (Advanced Excel skills with knowledge of VLOOKUP’s, sum ifs and pivot tables preferred)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Skillful problem solver, resourceful, enjoys a fast-paced environment, and has strong attention to detail
• Strong quantitative analytical skills, familiarity with data analysis and database tools highly desirable
